Author Linda Karoub came to Personal Chapters just before the pandemic hit. She had been working on her epic fiction novel, The Locket Left Behind, for 20 years. She researched, revised, and agonized until she knew it was ready. A mutual friend gave her my name, and we were soon collaborating by email and phone, and her “book baby” was born in 2020.
At the time her book launched, this California native was living in an RV in Palm Springs and would soon hit the road for a bucket-list trip along the western coast. Several huge life milestones followed the launch of the book for Linda.
In late 2025, as Personal Chapters Publishing entered its 11th year of operation, I took a fresh look at Linda's book and thought it could use a tune-up. With her permission, I gave The Locket Left Behind a facelift. The interior received a similar editing refresh, using the Oxford comma, eliminating some dashes that had appeared as two hyphens in the original book, and inserting some missing words (for some reason, the word "to" was missing in action).
The result is a fresh, clean look that shows up in sales page thumbnails so much better than the original. Author Linda Karoub and Personal Chapters are pleased with the remake. We think it shows the many things we've both learned about ourselves and this book publishing adventure.
